SARTORI RESERVE® TAKES TOP HONORS AT THE 2009 WORLD DAIRY EXPO CONTEST


PLYMOUTH, Wisconsin (August 28, 2009) - Wisconsin artisan cheese maker Sartori Foods took home a First Place honor at the prestigious 2009 World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest. Sartori Reserve Dolcina® Gorgonzola was awarded First Place in the Blue Veined Cheese category competing against some of the top cheese makers in the world. This year's contest had 560 entries competing in 21 cheese classifications. The competition Judging took place on August 26th in Madison, Wisconsin.


"I am incredibly proud of our entire organization," said Jim Sartori, third generation owner of the nationally acclaimed cheese company. "As we are now celebrating our 70th anniversary, the team continues to deliver the highest quality and best tasting cheese on a worldwide basis with our Sartori Reserve Cheese Line."


This is the 43rd award that the Sartori Reserve Cheese line has won in the past 2 years. Sartori Reserve Dolcina® Gorgonzola won 5. Sartori was awarded Best New Cheese and Best American Cheese in the World at the World Cheese Awards in Dublin, Ireland, and has taken top honors at the American Cheese Society Competition, The US Championship Cheese Contest, and the Wisconsin State Fair. Additionally Mike Matucheski, one of Sartori’s cheese makers, was recognized as the "Grand Master Cheese Maker" for the state of Wisconsin in August.
